When I was fourteen, a friend of mine got to playing a little too rough at the bus stop one morning. He decided that it would be fun to pick me up and swing me around until I couldn't walk straight. The problem with this was that I was wearing high heels that day, so when he finally finished spinning me and placed me down, one of those heels landed on a rock. The result was devastating. My kneecap was displaced and chipped. The shard lodged in my joint making it impossible to stand.

​After undergoing surgery, I was laid up in bed for an entire year. The only things that I had to entertain myself with were books. In particular, Harlequin Romance. Why those? They were an inexpensive entertainment my mother thought I would enjoy. One day, my father stopped in and saw all of the romance books strewn across the bed and left, without a word. Within five minutes he was back. He tossed a book onto my lap and said, "You need to broaden your reading horizons." He placed a kiss on my forehead and left again.

The book lying on my lap? Iceberg by Clive Cussler. I'd never heard of this author, nor was I familiar with his works, but my dad, an avid reader also, wouldn't hand me something not worth reading. I opened to the first page and was immediately engrossed in the story of intrigue. Dirk Pitt became my ideal hero.

That day, I fell in love with the written word.

When I began writing, I decided to take events from my life and transform them into elaborate stories. It was an exercise in catharticism. Later, my children and my husband offered an endless supply of ideas, both deliberate and inadvertent. Their input and support is why all of my books are dedicated to them, with much love.

​Today, I own and operate a state-licensed daycare facility and write as often as time affords. To date, I have written a dozen titles. Because I've self-published and have also had works picked up by a traditional publisher, I am what is now referred to as a "hybrid" author.

Additionally, I write using the names B. Woster and B.J. Woster, to distinguish between genres.
